The current image on my home page banner is "Old Webster Sunset" - this painting won the Mayor's Choice Award at the Annual Paint Webster Plein Air Event, in Webster Groves, Missouri, May 2025, Staff Pick Award in the Dakota Pastel Company 2nd Quarterly Competition, July 2025, and was chosen for the national juried show at Heartland Art Club in Kirkwood, Missouri, August 2025.  It is a view of the railroad track that winds through charming Webster Groves ,with shops and restaurants silhouetted against a sunset sky.

Hello and welcome!

My name is Holly Horn. As an artist who loves vibrant saturated color and transparent veils of pigment, watercolor, colored pencils, and pastels are a perfect choice for me.

Through my portraits of people, animals, and landscapes, it is my intent to capture the essence of my model, to highlight the individuality of each one. To capture a moment in time of a special person, pet, or place is a true joy.

As a co-founder and past president of the Saint Louis Watercolor Society, member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, the Sharpened Artist Colored Pencil community,  Red Rocks Pastel Society, Gateway Pastel Society, and the Plein Heiress Community, I have the fortune to view such beautiful artwork from a variety of artists, yet each so unique in its style of expression. I’m always amazed at how the individual personality of each artist shines through a painting, like sunshine through stained glass.
